travel bug

This summer is going to be EPIC.
I've been dying to get back to Garmisch for the summer and this time, instead of spending just two weeks there, I'll be spending 2 months in this gorgeous city!
Are you jealous?

And THEN, in mid July I'm going to Berlin for a study abroad!
I'm beyond excited! Everyone I've talked to that has either visited Berlin or lived there has nothing but good things to say about this city.

Berlin, I hear, is THE place to be.
Especially if you're young and looking for an adventure.
It's rich in history and culture, teeming with tons of art galleries, museums, record shops, döner kebap stands, beer gardens, cafés and much, much more.

And, lucky me -- I get to study at one one of Berlin's oldest universities, which is home to some of Germany's greatest thinkers, including Albert Einstein.

There's also a never-ending list of sites to see, like the Brandenburg Tor, the Fernsehturm, Museum Island and the Berlin Wall.

I'll certainly try to see as many historical places as I can, but I'm also looking forward to exploring other parts of the city and getting off the beaten path.
I've already met a couple locals who have promised to show me the real Berlin and take me to do things that aren't in any tour guide.

This summer is going to be amazing!

Twenty Three in Twenty Three.

I've got twenty three things to accomplish for the twenty three years of my existence.
I'm the mother procrastinator of all procrastinators.
I put the pro in procrastinate.
So this will be a little challenging.
But these will be fun things, not boring, un-exciting things... So that should help!
And since I'm doing this in the middle of the year and not around my birthday, I may have some things that might slip over onto my list later in December {when it's my birthday}.

{via}

1. Kayak on Lady Bird Lake.

2. Go on a wine tasting tour.

3.  Make Brioche Stuffed French Toast for breakfast for me and loverbuns. :)

{via}

5. Do some volunteer work and apply for UT.

6. Attend a Texas Longhorns football game. Hook 'em HORNS! \m/

7.  Join a sorority.

8. Take a photography class.

9. Start a garden and grow my own vegetables. Organic ones.

10. Be awesome at surfing.

11. Go skinny dipping. ;)

12. Try bungee jumping at South Padre Island.

13. See Kid Cudi in concert again!

{via}

14. Run barefoot out side and catch some fireflies.

15. Decorate my room.

16. Take a bubble bath once a week.

17. Get a pedicure once or twice a month.

18. Make my eyes look like this:

{via}

19. Read two books each month. {College textbooks don't count!}

20. Swim with a sea turtle.

{via}

21. Learn to snowboard this Christmas in the Bavarian/Swiss Alps.

{via}

22. Hike back to this place:

Sebensee, Austria

... and spend the night at the Coburger Hütte under a full moon.

23. Laugh as much as possible. Till my cheeks hurt and I'm doubling over with joy. :)

So there you have it guys! Or gals.
Twenty three things for me to do for the twenty three years I've been on this earth.
What things do you want to do?
Go on and link up with Erin at Living In Yellow and tell us all about it. :)

Now, I'll leave you with my kissy fish face.

Go on and write you little bloggy bloggers, you!

I ❤ rainstorms.

Eeeeeeeeeee! Thunder and lighting and rain, oh my!
Rain has finally made an appearance here in Austin.
Let's jump up & down for joy!
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love sunshine and being able to tan everyday...
But a few showers here and there are truly desired.

We were getting a little bummed out not getting any rain.
The lake levels are dismally low, which means no jet skiing or boating,
which means no fun at the lakey lake,
which means unhappy campers!

It rained the last couple of days and we had a downpour on Wednesday.
Each day/night, me, Zach, and our little furbaby Felix sat on the balcony.
We watched the ominous clouds roll in and waited in anticipation for the booming thunder
after each strike of lightning.
We listened to Pandora and laughed at Felix while he stuck his head out in the rain
pointing it up to the sky, trying to snap at all the rain drops.
There's nothing better than Kid Cudi and a silly furbaby playing in the rain. :)
The Kid Cudi station really is the best.
Listen to it!
You'll love it. Promise. :)

On Thursday after all the rain, we kicked it poolside!

A few days ago Zach finally showed me the proper way to throw a football.
Now that I'm a pro, we did plenty of pigskin tossing and basking in the glorious sunshine.
This morning I woke up thinking I slept on my arm for too long.
But then I remembered yesterday and realized why my whole upper arm is sore!
But it was a blasty blast and so worth it.
No pain, no gain, right?
Right.
Gotta get my spiral swag on! ;)

I'll have to remember to get someone to snap a pic of us throwing the football next time.

Happy Friday loverrrrrrs!

monkey business

so, last monday i made a little trip down to houston to hang with my ankle biter cousins, my cool older cousin, and the most awesome-est aunt ever.

we played wii, watched movies and the real housewives of new york & orange county, made brownies and pineapple upside down cake, ate pizza, went swimming, shopped at the galleria, had fits over chocolate milk and slushies, jumped on the trampolines at sky zone, and played in the jungle gym at the stomping grounds.

i wish i would've snapped more pictures, because these make me crack up!

{left to right: havva, connor, meva. bottom: noah}

havva really makes me crack up with her speedo goggles and toothy smile! she has super duper long eyelashes and it looks so cute with the hot pink goggles smashed up against her face. she looks like a cute little sea monster. makes my heart melt!

i should have gotten a better close-up, but there were tons of little splish-splashers all over the place and i didn't want my phone to get wet or accidentally dropped in the pool. cuz that would be no bueno.

it sure was an eventful week! i love getting to spend time with family. especially since i feel like i have such a small one.

and getting to hang out with the cousins is always fun. they're getting so big and way smarter than you think. they also remember every.word.you.say. they don't forget a thing!

so don't make promises you can't keep around those munchkins. because they will hold ya to it!

these are the super awesome coasters that my cool younger-but-older-than-the-ankle-biters cousin, connor, made for me out of leather.

fancy, don't cha think? i love them. he's so crafty and talented. what an awesome cousin. love ya, dude!

after the week in houston, i came home on thursday night to watch game 7 of the finals with my man and a house full of people - which i was not expecting {thanks for the heads up, babe} and i'm sad to say that okc lost, but i am glad to say that lebron finally has a championship ring after 9 long years. so glad that people can shut up now! way to go lebron. they can suck it!

after the game, i had a ridiculous headache. but my friends and wonderful boyfriend managed to drag me out of the house to go downtown for drinks. i felt much better after a couple drinks {who doesn't, right?} and the night ended up being a pretty epic one.

it also ended with zach and kristi eating a bratwurst from a street vendor. and zach {who doesn't even like sauerkraut} chowed down on the most sloppiest, but tastiest sauerkrauty, mustardy, ketchupy jalapeño bratwurst ever. maybe it was because it was 2 am. but holy jeebus that thing was delicious!

that boy was leaned up like a cholo on the side of a parked van, while he scarffed that thing down, with sauerkraut and mustard and ketchup all over his face and dripping onto the sidewalk. for some reason though, he didn't finish the last bite and chunked it up in the air behind the van.

i can only imagine the poor sap who got beamed in the head with that mess! {everyone stands around in the middle of 6th street after the bars close and they just hang out. eat food. stumble around drunkenly. you know.} and oh my gosh, why in the hell i didn't snap a picture of that lovely face smothered in condiments, i'll never know. must'a been the al-al-al-al-al-alcohol.

oh well, i'm sure there's more of that to come in the future. reason #438054854302 why you must carry your camera with you at all times. lesson learned.

it's saturday night, which means tomorrow in sunday. sunday funday. tonight though, it's movie night with the roomies. :)

hope your weekends are fabulous!
